Just listened to “Don’t Leave Me Now” so I figured I’d check out Chelsea’s “Better than Ever.” First thing that stuck out was the song was completely different. Some artists put out albums where all the songs sound alike. This was an upbeat song that incorporated Chelsea’s voice well in a different tone than “Don’t Leave Me Now.” As I mentioned with “Don’t Leave Me Now,” Chelsea reminds me of Sara McLachlan’s early work. This song had a vibe reminiscent of Canada’s band, “The Wild Strawberries.” A fun song but not mindless drivel. By the way, don’t take the comparison comments on a negative note as I think Chelsea is an artist in her own right (and a good one). Just trying to let people know who she reminds me of (and she’s in excellent company).

About Chelsea Berman

Making her start on the music scene 5 years ago with her duo ‘Just Between Us’, fresh Central Coast talent, Chelsea Berman, has since launched her solo career, gigging throughout Newcastle, the Central Coast and Sydney.

In early 2018 she released her first solo EP, Better Than Ever. Debuting at number four on the Itunes country album charts, her EP has seen a lot of media attention. Joining writing forces with the likes of Chelsea Basham and Rachael Fahim, Chelsea has started out strong in the country music industry and plans to stay there.

So young, with a growing career in the country music scene and already racking up accolades including; Top 10 ‘Country Song of the Year’ in The Song Comp (2018), Finalist ‘Most Popular Australian Indie Country Music EP’ in the ICMA awards (2018), Winner Homegrown Songwriting Competition (2015), and Finalist in the Australian Songwriters Association Songwriting Competition (2014, 2015 & 2016), Chelsea is certainly one to watch.
