English born Australian pop singer John Farnham has a tremendous career, and he will soon be touring Australia in 2017 and 2018. Since signing a label deal at 18 and becoming a teen pop idol in the 60s and 70s to replacing the lead singer of Little River Band in the early 80s, John Farnham has accomplished numerous more feats, including 20 ARIA Awards, making it into the 2003 Hall of Fame class, and earning the second highest selling album in Australian history in his ‘86 debut Whispering Jack. Not to mention he won 1987 Australian of the year and was voted king of pop by TV Week readers five years in a row! Clearly, John Farnham is a big deal.
Starting in November, John Farnham will be touring several Australian cities with some dates already being sold out in cities like Perth and Gold Coast. Over the recent two year span of 2015 and 2016, Farnham released two albums, first Strong Hearts Live and then the platinum plague earning Friends for Christmas, both albums a collaboration with artist Olivia Newton-John.
John Farnham has been called the most successful solo artist in the history of Australian rock and pop. From November 2017 to March 2018, he will be touring what might be to be sellout shows each night. Said to be a man with a great sense of humor and the simple everyman charm, it’s no wonder he’s been so successful.
